Announcing two building protection positions

Helgeland Museum is advertising two building conservation positions for Vegaøyan World Heritage. The positions will be on Vega and with an office in the World Heritage Center.

The two new positions are building conservation coordinator and building conservation advisor. The building conservation coordinator will work with the building conservation advisor to take care of the museum's tasks on Vega, and together with the advisor be perceived as good partners for Vega municipality, the Vegaøyan World Heritage Foundation and other partners for the museum. 

The building conservation coordinator will lead the work of establishing a building conservation center with workshops in the barn at the old vicarage on Vega. Other important tasks will be to coordinate various activities such as courses, workshops, marketing and other activities that building conservation needs, help to create an active learning environment regarding traditional crafts and contribute to Helgeland Museum's overall work with building conservation.

The building conservation advisor's most important tasks are to collaborate with local owners of houses and buildings in need of restoration, but also to maintain close contact with Vega municipality, Nordland county council and state authorities in addition to the museum's organization. Other important tasks are to follow up the cooperation agreement with Nordland County, application management, quality assurance and reporting, help to develop a building conservation center on Vega, help to create an active learning environment regarding traditional crafts, contribute to Helgeland Museum's overall work on building conservation and facilitate and participate in research.
