New intermediary position at Vega World Heritage Center

We are looking for a creative person who wants to work with communicating world heritage. Our new colleague must have good communication skills and enjoy collaborating and including others in the center's work. We want our new communicator to be a committed and outgoing person who is passionate about our World Heritage values and who wants to create activities in the center.

The intermediary will be responsible for:

- Further develop the exhibition Ville vakre Vega.

- Plan and carry out various educational programs for children and young people on topics such as world heritage (Vega, Norway, the world), nature conservation, local culture and traditions, etc.

- Apply for project funding for activities for children and young people and then manage and implement the projects.

- Perform the host role in the center.

- Develop the Vega World Heritage Center in its role as a hub for the local community.

Desired qualifications:

- Relevant education in nature, culture, pedagogy, communication or equivalent.

- A strong commitment to the development of an exciting world heritage center

- Good IT skills and experience in communicating through social media

- Strong communication skills

- Good language skills in Norwegian and English

- Good collaboration skills

- Self-driven and enterprising

Vega World Heritage Center AS, together with the Vegaøyan World Heritage Foundation, works to promote and develop the values of the Vegaøyan World Heritage Area. The center opened in 2019 as one of five authorized World Heritage Centers in Norway. The center is a meeting place for engaging stories and activities. It also serves as a starting point for outdoor activities and experiences.

The World Heritage Center has a special responsibility to communicate and disseminate knowledge about world heritage in general and Vegaøyan World Heritage in particular. The culture and nature of Vegaøyan World Heritage Site is unique in a global context, and the center will develop experiences and activities that arouse international interest and help to strengthen local pride and identity.
