Management of the cultural landscape in the World Heritage area in Vega municipality

The Vegaøyan World Heritage Foundation has financial resources available for the implementation of management in the world heritage area. The funds are primarily intended for people who do not engage in active agriculture and receive production subsidies in agriculture. For these, funds managed by Vega Municipality apply. For the protected areas, there are also separate funds, see the fact box in the application form.

Who can apply?
Private individuals, landowners' associations, associations of friends, and businesses in the World Heritage area that do not have agriculture as their main source of income can apply.

What can support be applied for?
Support can be provided for various purposes; grazing, traditional haymaking and investments in connection with maintenance. "Lawn mowing" around houses and cottages is not covered by the scheme. The same rate is used for traditional haymaking in grassland (ordinary management) and grazing as the subsidy scheme in Vega municipality
