Exhibition at Vega World Heritage Center
Experience the history of the World Heritage Site – in the middle of The archipelago Vega
What makes Vega so unique? the islands on the UNESCO World Heritage List? You will find the answer through the exhibition "Wild and Beautiful Vega". It is an experience for children, adults, history buffs and those who want to understand more about life in the ocean abyss.
The exhibition takes you on a journey from the Stone Age to the present day. Here you will learn how the islanders have lived in balance with nature; through fishing, coastal agriculture and the unique eider tradition that is still preserved. The archipelago conveyed through film, objects, voices, images and real life.
You can choose to go on your own, use our audio guide with songs, poems and local narration , or ask at reception for personal guiding.

In addition to the main exhibition, you will find:
- A general world heritage exhibition , with examples from both Norway and abroad
- An interactive geology exhibition created in collaboration with Trollfjell Geopark
- Two films about Vega and the world heritage , which are shown continuously in our film room
- Temporary exhibitions that change throughout the year
- The nature and cultural trail around the center is open year-round, with grazing goats in the summer.
All of this is included in the entrance fee.
