In 2023, the foundation adopted new articles of association with a board of directors with five political representatives from Vega municipality, the Norwegian parliament, Nordland county council and Helgeland council. The board will receive input from a technical council and an advisory committee.

Observers: Norwegian Environment Agency, the Directorate for Cultural Heritage , the State Administrator in Nordland, Vega Protected Area Board , The State Nature Conservation Service.

The Vegaøyan World Heritage Foundation has a professional council with representatives from the Directorate for Cultural Heritage , Norwegian Environment Agency, Nordland County Municipality – cultural heritage in Nordland (administrative level), Vega Protected Area Board , the Norwegian Nature Conservation Agency, Vega Municipality (administrative level), Vega World Heritage Centre, Helgeland Museum and two landowner representatives from the World Heritage area and buffer zone.

The board shall have an advisory committee that shall provide impetus for the board's work. The advisory committee for the Vegaøyan World Heritage Foundation holds joint meetings with the advisory committee for Vega Protected Area Board The following teams and associations are represented on the advisory committee: Hysværøyan Grunneierlag, Nordland Eider Association , BirdLife, department of South Helgeland, Vega Farmers' and Small Farmers' Association, Skogsholmen Village Association, Vega Farmer's Association, Vega Fisherman's Association, Vega Coastal Association, Vegaøyans Friends, Vega School, Skogholt Youth Association, Ylvingen, Utværet Lånan AS, the Nordland Conservation Association, Visit Helgeland, Aktiv Vega, landowner representatives for Søla , Muddvær , Kilvær and Skjærvær
